Post-war rebuilding & expansion up to now
During the World War II the fleet was practically destroyed and on the day following the end of the war remained only two tugs in uncertain efficiency conditions.
The fleet has been built again in direct post-war and in the meantime new administrative permission for towing services were gained in other Ports of Southern Italy. At present the company provides towage services in the Ports of Naples and surroundings, Taranto, Bari and Gaeta.
The harbour of Taranto is the main Italian port for Ore-Oil carriers’ traffic (with ships over 300'000 TDW) being the seat of ILVA steel factory (the second largest in Europe) and AGIP refinery. With the launching of the TCT in 2001 the harbour is playing a major role also in the containers’ world traffic.
